From the day we first set foot on Palmetto Bluff, we understood that we had been handed an incredible opportunity, and that we had shouldered an enormous responsibility. How does one create a human settlement without destroying the beauty and magic of this immense and pristine maritime forest? It was with this challenge in mind that we set out to preserve and protect one of America's treasured landscapes while creating a place for those who would cherish and respect this unique environment.
